According to the U.S. government's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a product can be labeled "low-fat" if it contains 3 grams of fat or less per serving. This guideline, however, doesn't tell the whole story, as a food's healthfulness depends on its serving size, the type of fat it contains, and the context of your overall diet.
