In the United States, approximately 99% of commercially grown black raspberries originate from Oregon's Willamette Valley. However, this deliciously sweet fruit is also widely recognized by another name: the blackcap, or blackcap raspberry.

According to WebMD, black raspberries are "Likenly Safe" for most people to eat as a food. While they may be less common in grocery stores than their red counterparts, the sweet and slightly tart flavor of a ripe black raspberry makes it a delicious and healthy treat.
