Fireball Cinnamon Whisky is officially bottled at 33% alcohol by volume (ABV), also known as 66 proof. This is a crucial detail to understand when considering how much alcohol does one shot of Fireball have, as the content is lower than a typical 80-proof whiskey.

According to nutritional data, a standard 1.5-ounce shot of Fireball cinnamon whiskey contains approximately 11 grams of carbohydrates, almost entirely from added sugar. This fact makes it a significant source of carbs, differing sharply from unflavored spirits which contain zero.

In 2014, Fireball was subject to a recall in several European countries after it was found to contain excessive levels of propylene glycol, a chemical also used in antifreeze. While the company states it no longer uses this ingredient, this incident and other factors bring into question what is unhealthy about Fireball.
