According to U.S. food labeling laws, a serving size of a product can be labeled with zero calories if it contains less than five calories. This is the legal loophole that allows Tic Tacs, which are almost entirely sugar, to market themselves with a '0 calorie' claim on the packaging, despite each mint containing almost two calories.
