According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5, 2019-21), India has seen a decrease in childhood stunting, but malnutrition remains a significant challenge. The motto 'Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan,' meaning 'Proper Nutrition, Nation Bright,' encapsulates the purpose of the government's flagship nutrition mission, Poshan Abhiyaan, which aims to address this issue head-on.
