In August 2023, Lucozade owner Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I officially rolled out a reformulation of its popular Original and Orange flavors after 18 months of research and development. The significant change introduced a new taste of Lucozade Original, which the company describes as "more zingy" with a bolder flavor profile.

Before 1948, the popular lemon-lime soda 7UP contained a curious ingredient: lithium citrate. Originally called "Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda" upon its 1929 launch, it was advertised as a mood-boosting tonic. This unusual component was removed due to a 1948 ban by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that prohibited its use in soft drinks after reports of lithium toxicity and unregulated sales.

Fruitella, a brand beloved for its fruity, chewy candies since 1931, has not always been a vegan-friendly option. The transition to a plant-based recipe happened in stages, with the brand first introducing specific vegan gummy lines in 2019 before reformulating its classic chews to be vegan in 2023. This shift reflects a growing consumer demand for plant-based confectionary options.

As of late 2010, the answer is a definitive no. The once-notorious beverage, often dubbed 'blackout in a can,' underwent a major reformulation over a decade ago to remove stimulants, so modern cans of 4 Loko no longer have caffeine.
