As of January 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) requires a graduate degree for all new registered dietitian (RD) exam candidates. This shift means prospective dietitians must complete a master's degree, in addition to undergraduate coursework and supervised practice, to qualify for the national exam.
